Toshiba held a private launch party in London last night to unveil its TG01 smartphone. The TG01 is the first smartphone announced that uses Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon chipset. It features a massive 4.1" WVGA (800x480 pixels) touchscreen display and is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with a custom 3D user interface.
The Toshiba TG01 includes a built-in GPS receiver, as well as WiFi, HSDPA, and a microSD card slot for extra storage. The TG01 is ultra-thin, measuring only 9.9mm (.4") and still manages to feature a camera of unknown resolution on its back. The phone utilizes a G-sensor, which allows for fun and functional extras, such as the ability to shake the phone to answer a call.
